Exit Letter From President

 

And Now the End Is Near

 Que Onda, 

My last weekly email. After 2 year of almost weekly letters this will be my last time writing to you guys. For those that don't know I'm returning home on Thursday the 15th so as of writing this, I'm down to less than 2 days here in CDMX. 

The quick rundown of my last full week. 

- Wednesday: district counsel like always,  the zone leaders come which was great. Gave a teaching going over President Lyman teaching style. 

1st teach the principal. 

2nd give the commitment. 

3rd promise blessings. 

4th testify. 

5th follow up. 

- Friday I had my exit interview and last supper with Presidente Lyman. It was a fantastic experience. Taught me a ton. I especially liked the number 1 way to stay active in the church. Always follow the Prophet, not exceptions. It doesn't matter if you don't like what he says or if it not what you want. Always follow the Prophet. The last supper was also great. My fist time in the mission home since I got here to the mission. 

-Saturday we went to a restaurant we have been wanting to try for breakfast and that night we finally got to visit a inactive family, we have been trying to visit.

- Monday we had exchanges with the Elders of Tlahuac I spent the day with Elder Jaimes. 

- Today pday we went to the temple. It was my first time doing endowments since I took out my own 2 years ago and it was an amazing experience. The changes they made this year are amazing and made it much clearer. A ton of Elders from the mission were also there, around 24, it was awesome to get to see them one last time before I leave. 

My Mission has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. It hasn't been easy and I have been far from perfect but I wouldn't trade these last two years for anything in the world. One of my companios said how the misión is "the best two years for your life" I couldn't agree more. I have been able to learn the truths of the gospel and have come to know that Jesus is my savior. He suffer for each one of us individually and knows us personally. He is willing and ready to help us in all things and as we tie ourselves to him through convents we are able to over come the world and have a fullness of joy. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true and living church. It is lead by Prophets and Apostles who are the Lords chosen leaders, and President Russell M. Nelson is the Prophet of God in these days. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and was translated by Joseph Smith. It has the plenitud of the gospel and Jesus Christ. The Lord has spoken to me through is pages and I have learned things even when I have just been able to read a few lines. I know that the Lord is pleased with my service and it has been the greatest blessing to serve him here in the México, México City South Mission.

Elder Montoya part 2

 Que Onda?  

What a week was had! 

The week started off with a bang  Elder Montoyas misión tour. It was a fantastic conference. I particularly liked presedtents message about Christ being our primary influencer not anyone else. We are first disciples of Christ not Swifties. Elder Montoya also gave a power message on how we need to focused a driven as missionaries. We are representatives of Christ for only this short time and we need to make the most of it. It was a great peptalk for my last couple of weeks. 

Friday we than had a noche de barrio, we taught about the Joy in the Gospel based on President Nelson's October 2016 general conference talk "Joy and Spiritual Survival." What brings us joy in this life is Christ and if we have a life centered on Christ we can have joy no mater what is happening. 

Sunday we had a great fast and testimony meeting, Elder Reyes and I both got to bear our testimonies. I never love getting up in front of groups but it was my last fast and testimony meeting in my Mission so I had to make sure to do it. 

Monday in the morning we went to the misión office to film the special musical number with all the missionaries that are ending this transfer. We sang a  arrangement of "love one another" And "brightly beams our fathers mercy". Then that night we had a giant thunder storm. It was one of the biggest I have see in a while. 

Than today we went to the las Antenas mall and ate Ramen with the Elderes of Constitución.

 Hola, 

Another super quick week. Months ago when Presidente told me that my last six mouths are a free fall, I never thought he meant this fast. 

To start the week off with district counsel like it always does but we learned that Elder Días would be having ETs due to a new secretary being assigned, so sadly he left the district. 

Then Thursday I had my last regular interview with president, a bitter sweet experience. We had a great interview but now I only have my exit interview left. Also that night we bought some food storage por si las moscas Popocatepetl has a masive eruption. 

Friday, we got to help Teresa and Federico start there family history with was awesome. The best family history experience I have had, it was super fun. 

Saturday we ate with Federico and Teresa and they gave is awesome sopes. 

Sunday we Federico and Teresa told us that they have been having problems so we spent a lot of time with them talking about what is happening and  helping them out. Monday we fasted for them, and they told us today that they are going to work through this rough patch. It was a massive relief, we were pretty worried for a while. 

Today as a district we went to el Estadio Azteca. It was the first time for almost the entire district, but my third. I always love going. After el estadio we went to the tiangus of Santa Ursula.

 Hola, 

This week has just flown by, it seems hard to believe. 

Overall it was a great week. 

After last pday we got invited to eat molletes with institute which was fun. 

Thursday was interesting as the areabook planner (the app we use to plan and has all the information) serves weren't working, We had a weird day, as all of our planing went out the window. 

Friday, Federico and Teresa attended an activity and they loved it. We are really hoping to pit them on baptismal date soon.

Saturday, was the Kermés for the youth fundraiser, it was a fun time. It is basically a fair where they sell food. 

Monday we had a family home evening with a less active family which went great. 

Today for pday we went to tlaltenco to visit some of my converts there. 

Those are all the highlights. We also had a ton of lessons this week which was a great time. 

Some may have heard about the eruptions of Popocatepetl. We are all safe here. Apparently we are getting ash but we haven't seen any. The mission is also outside of the dangerous areas if things get worse.
