2 P-Days left

 Hola, 

Another super quick week. Months ago when Presidente told me that my last six mouths are a free fall, I never thought he meant this fast. 

To start the week off with district counsel like it always does but we learned that Elder Días would be having ETs due to a new secretary being assigned, so sadly he left the district. 

Then Thursday I had my last regular interview with president, a bitter sweet experience. We had a great interview but now I only have my exit interview left. Also that night we bought some food storage por si las moscas Popocatepetl has a masive eruption. 

Friday, we got to help Teresa and Federico start there family history with was awesome. The best family history experience I have had, it was super fun. 

Saturday we ate with Federico and Teresa and they gave is awesome sopes. 

Sunday we Federico and Teresa told us that they have been having problems so we spent a lot of time with them talking about what is happening and  helping them out. Monday we fasted for them, and they told us today that they are going to work through this rough patch. It was a massive relief, we were pretty worried for a while. 

Today as a district we went to el Estadio Azteca. It was the first time for almost the entire district, but my third. I always love going. After el estadio we went to the tiangus of Santa Ursula.

 Hola, 

This week has just flown by, it seems hard to believe. 

Overall it was a great week. 

After last pday we got invited to eat molletes with institute which was fun. 

Thursday was interesting as the areabook planner (the app we use to plan and has all the information) serves weren't working, We had a weird day, as all of our planing went out the window. 

Friday, Federico and Teresa attended an activity and they loved it. We are really hoping to pit them on baptismal date soon.

Saturday, was the Kermés for the youth fundraiser, it was a fun time. It is basically a fair where they sell food. 

Monday we had a family home evening with a less active family which went great. 

Today for pday we went to tlaltenco to visit some of my converts there. 

Those are all the highlights. We also had a ton of lessons this week which was a great time. 

Some may have heard about the eruptions of Popocatepetl. We are all safe here. Apparently we are getting ash but we haven't seen any. The mission is also outside of the dangerous areas if things get worse.

 Hola todos, 

A quick letter today. 

The big event were exchanges on Wednesday. I got to serve with our DL Elder Michaelis in Tlahuac. It was a great exchange, I learned a ton. We talked a lot about some of the difficulties here in Meyehualco and how Elder Reyes and I can address them. He also helped me see how I can stay focused in this last transfer. The end is creeping near.

Wednesday was also mother's day here in Mexico. 

Saturday we had a lesson with Amy and put her on baptismal date for June. 

Sunday the ward had a nice activity for mothers day. 

One thing I Have realized over my Mission is how perfect the plan of salvation is. It is the only plan that will let us progress and become like our Father in Heaven. And how the entire plan is centered in Jesus Christ, he is the key to it all and the key to having a happy and joyful life.

Welcome back to the weekly report of Elder Neilson.

This past week was pretty good. Overall a very chill week. 

We had a few great lessons with our friends Teresa and Federico. They are doing superwell. We really hope they can fix their problem, and then baptism and confirmation. 

The big event this week was the stake conference of Estaca Meyehualco. Which I realized will probably be my last Stake conference here in Mexico. It was great. Elder Dominguez the area seventy presided and Presidente Lyman and Sister Lyman also attended. As we were in the choir so we got to be up on the stand the entire time, it was a really cool experience. I can only remember being on the stand once before in a priesthood seccion to direct the music. The funniest part was they had the choir wear matching ties, however the thrusday before in the weekly mission Zoom meeting, Presidente and Sister Lyman told the mission that we shouldn't/can't wear matching ties (or dresses for the Sister.) Than only a few days latter we were wearing matching ties. They found it pretty funny and said that it was ok this time .

We also learned in the Zoom meeting that Elder Montoya the Presidente of the Mexico Area is coming  to the mission at the end of the month for a mission tour. The thing that is coolest for me is that he came my first transfer and now is coming my last transfer. 

This pday we had a surprise lesson with some members in the morning. Due to this our district leader told us we could extend our pday, win. The big thing we did was we went to Iztapasauria with the elder of buenavista. It is a outdoor anomatronic dinosaur exhibit in a park here in Iztapalapa. It was small but a fun time.

The Home Stretch

Sorry for not writing the second half of last transfer. So here is the three week run down. 

We had exchanges with the Elders of Las Peñas two time. My first I was with Elder Cardona, our district leader. The second was with Elder Jones. Both were great. I was Elder Cardona's district leader months ago at it was nice to catch up with him. 

Sunday the 16th we had probably one if the best Restoration lessons that I have had in my mision. Juan just understood and accepted everything. We taught about  Prophets, for him it just made sense, the Book of Mormon as well, its here to help the Bible. It went great. 

Than the 22nd we went to the temple as a ward and brought our friends Federico and Teresa. They absolutely loved it, and the visitors center. I hadn't been to the temple in over a year so I also loved the opportunity to be back at the house of the Lord. 

On Sunday the 23rd Elder Reyes and I also got roped in to helping the ward with the choir for stake conference. It's been pretty good so far and we will se how it goes. 

The 25th Elder Olson invited us to go to cheesecake factory with him and his companion, Elder Salazar, for his last pday. It was a great time. 

Saturday the 29th we had the baptism of out amigita Dulce in the morning it was great. When I first got here to Meyehualco and started teaching her I wasn't so sure how she would progress. But she really started to understand and everything worked out. We also got to go to a baptism in San Pedro Martir that afternoon for a investigator I taught there. It was great to be back. 

Transfers also have come around and I have started my last transfer here in the mission which is crazy to me. I still feel like I just got to México. The time has just flown. I'm staying here in Meyehualco with Elder Reyes it should be great.

Semana Santa

 ¿Que Onda?

Feliz late holy week. 

Before my Mission I would of thought that the week of Easter would be full of work but here in Mexico it just doesn't seem to be the case. Semana Santa is a very slow week for us missionaries. All of our friends were working or outside of the city for vacations. Do to this we sadly had very few lessons this week. We did get to do a fare bit of contacts in person and digitally.

Wedsday we had district counsel and we recorded a musical number for the mission's weekly Zoom meeting on Thursday. They were both a great time. We sang an arrangement of "We'll bring the world his truth" 

Friday morning while visiting a less active member we came across a huge group of catholics in a parade for good Friday. They had a large statue of Christ carrying the cross. The catholic celebrations are always a little alien to me but I do love the devotion they show.

Saturday we had a ward family home evening. We had it planed at 6 to start at 6:30 for Mexican standard time. However we ended up staring around 7 due to technical difficulties. It went great even with all of the delays, and low attendence of 8 people. We got to share a great message on the restoration, always something I love teaching about. 

Sunday we had only sacrament meeting, which went great. Fantastic talks on the atonement and resurrection. The sad part was that none of our investigators showed up, but a inactive family we are working with did show up which was great. 

This p-day Elder Reyes and I went to the music tiangus, because he has never been and wanted to get a guitar.
