Una Semana

 Hola Todos,

This is going to be a short one, sorry. 

For Thanksgiving we had dinner with a member that canceled, So I had the Idea of doing a Charlie Brown thanksgiving. It was great, a super big carb bomb. 

Our Friend Gerardo also attended church this week. It was great. He is really beginning to progress and I see a lot of potential. 

This week we have a Zone conference on wednesday and on Thursday I will be helping with the giving machine that is going to be in our mission. I'm looking forward to both.

Training has come to an end and cuevas

 Qué Onda, 

I keep you guys waiting for a week so here is the report. 

Last Monday, the 14th, we had transfers and, my time with Elder Redmond came to an end, and so did his training. Elder Valenzuala, Elder Lee and I are still here in the powerful hidalgo/bosques house but Elder Redmond left. He is now serving in Educación. It was a great transfer and I expect great things from Elder Redmond, he is a fantastic missionary!  

Form the week I missed the most notable event was my exchange with Elder Lee. It was great, and I learned a lot from him. 

My new companion is Elder Briceño from San Luis Potosí. He just finished his training but is a powerhouse. And we have been having a great time together. 

This week was full of the chamba (missionary wrok). Elder Briceño and I got to know the area more. Even though I have been here for 6 weeks I feel like I learned a ton about Bosques. 

Wednesday we had a fun time coming back form district counsel in San Pedro. We had food at 2:30, and we left district counsel a little past 12. It is an hour walking to get to Bosques from San Pedro  So we decided to visit people until lunch. We ended up walking a ton and for Elder Briceño it was a "welcome to Bosques". As most of the walking was up hill and his last area was completely flat.

Sunday, we had a family we have been teaching come to church. I was really pumped, as the last couple of weeks they have had something happen that stopped them form coming. 

This Pday we returned to Xitle but this time for the lava tubes. Out ward mission leader is super familiar with them so he was our guide. We went with the elders of Hidalgo and the ZLs. They were epic. My headlamp (thanks dad) was the only real flashlight we had so it was essential. This was probably one of my favorite things I have done for a pday. Caves are always a win.

 Hola,

This week was a ride: Wednesday Thursday and Friday were all exchanges. 

Wednesday:  I had exchanges with Elder Jaimes. It was great but all of our lessons fell through. However we were able to schedule one lesson with our friend Sarah. It was a great lesson and he helped me see ways that we can help her that I hadn't seen before. 

Thursday: I had exchanges with Elder Pano. Again all of our lessons fell though, but we were able to make up the difference contacting and visiting people. 

Friday was exchanges with the APs. It was fantastic, tons of lessons. We even had 3 before lunch! They were also able to give me tons of advice on being a district leader and training. 

That's all the time I've got.

Happy Day of the Dead

 Hola, 

The week started off with exchanges with Elder Cardona, they were great, but a little crazy. On our way to lunch we got lost and couldn't find the house of the hermana for an hour and forty minutes. After food, we went to the baptism of Nailea, the investigator of the  Elders of San Pablo. That I interviewed and whom Elder Cardona taught while he was there last transfer. 

The rest of the week was normal, we had some great lessons, one of them on Friday with a member reference, he had tons of great questions about why we are here and God's plan. Saturday was another great lesson with our friend Crystal. She also has tons of questions and we totally changed our lesson plan to answer them, but she really appreciated us taking the time to help her understand. 

For this fifth Sunday we focused on the story of the church here in Mexico. There are a ton of great stories of being true to the faith and following the spirit. But the speaker for sacrament meeting wasn't able to attend so on Friday I was asked to give a talk. The theme was Elder Holland's talk from April of 2014 "The Cost—and Blessings—of Discipleship". When I got to the stand to give my talk I asked how much time I had. 15 to 20 was the answer. I ended up speaking for around 25 minutes, which I was super proud of. I truly love the promises that Elder Holland gives for being a faithful disciple of Christ. 

"In courageously pursuing such a course, you will forge unshakable faith, you will find safety against ill winds that blow, even shafts in the whirlwind, and you will feel the rock-like strength of our Redeemer, upon whom if you build your unflagging discipleship, you cannot fall" 

Halloween night, the President approved Coco to watch so, we spent the night watching it in Spanish.

For this P-day, we went shopping and then watched the Chosen because Elder Redmond has never seen it.
